Our Story
Syifa and Nafiz met in 2015 while they were freshman in college at the University of Connecticut. They got to know each other during their time at UConn, as they were part of the same friend group. Their friendship and connection continued to blossom as they realized their life visions aligned with one another’s and they enjoyed each other’s companionship. They continued to remain close friends after their college graduation.
In the summer of 2020, they decided their love for one another was ready for the next phase. To solidify their future, Nafiz and his family came to meet Bunda and Ayah to propose marriage to Syifa, which of course they accepted. At the height of the pandemic, Syifa, Nafiz, along with their beloved parents and siblings decided to celebrate their union and fast-tracked the wedding planning. By the grace of Allah (SWT) on November 28, 2020 on a beautiful autumn afternoon, they performed their wedding ceremony and were Islamically married in Bedford, NH. The ceremony was followed by an intimate reception on the same day surrounded by their closest friends turned into family. Unfortunately, their respective families in Bangladesh and Indonesia were unable to attend in person but were able to attend over zoom.
Syifa and Nafiz will have been married for almost 3 years. By the grace of Allah (SWT), they are visiting Indonesia this summer. They will be hosting a reception in Jakarta, this time with Syifa’s entire family by their side. We cordially invite you to celebrate their marriage and hope that you are able to attend their reception!
